CAN I FILE MY IDEA WITHOUT A PATENT?
Yes, ATELEI accepts any idea for consideration, whether it is patented or not. However, we recommend that you apply for a patent before submitting your idea if you believe it is patentable. Obtaining a patent will give you legal rights that you would not otherwise have.
Will Atelei share the cost of patenting my idea?
No, the patenting costs of your idea are your responsibility, as you will have rights to it under EU and US patent law. If ATELEI modifies your idea in a way that is clearly different from the original, we will have the option to patent the modified idea.
If I send physical materials, will they be returned to me?
Materials will not be returned. Please make sure you have duplicates of any physical materials you send.
Can I present an idea that someone else has come up with?
No.
What can I do to increase the chances of Atelei selecting my idea?
Be sure to fill out the application completely. Include images, drawings and as much detail as possible to help us understand how your idea is unique and how it can solve a problem or make a task easier.
How do I know if my idea has been received?
You will receive a confirmation email indicating that your idea has been successfully received.
What happens once my idea is presented?
Once you have accepted our product submission terms and received confirmation of your idea, it will be sent to ATELEI's idea review team. This team will evaluate proposals to determine if we are interested in developing your idea. After the initial review, our team may accept your idea for further exploration, reject it, or request additional information.
Although you may receive requests for additional information about your idea, most evaluations are done only with the material included in the original presentation. At ATELEI, we encourage you to include all the information you consider relevant to the evaluation of your idea from the beginning.

How do I know if the company is interested in my idea?
If your idea is selected for further review, we will contact you.
Will Atelei compensate me for my idea?
If ATELEI uses your non-patented idea in production products and was not aware of it prior to your submission, you will receive €2,000 and a product sample (when the retail value of the product is less than €150). If ATELEI uses your patented idea in production products, an agreement may be negotiated.
